I bought the Pulaski Axe Handle on a sale to have a back up in case I break or wear out the handle on my Barebones Pulaski. I bought the Pulaski through another retailer so was unable to review on this site. The handle is sturdy and strong. It takes a beating when using the Pulaski like I do. The tool itself holds an edge and is a great size. I use it a lot for garden work on tough roots and such. The only drawback, as I see it, is the weight of the handle. An iron rod runs the length of the handle which adds significantly to the total weight. I do backcountry trail crew work and it is too heavy to backpack. It would be great to have a solid wood handle option for this tool. I still give it five stars because of the quality the Barebones creates in their products and its utility.

So according to my wife I have way too many shiny, sharp things (not possible as far as I’m concerned). But this axe is amazing and the interchangeable handles are almost as equally amazing! For any of you weekend backwoods warriors that are looking for a long term, overly useful tool, the Barebones Pulaski axe is a must and 2 or 3 extra handles won’t break the bank, but they will ensure long term use of this awesome tool!
